Now You Know

L’Shana Tovah! I hope it is a year of good health and happiness for you and your family and peace for all of us.
In a few months, FJMC will be running its well known and praised Foundation for Jewish Life Leadership Development Institute (LDI) at the Pearlstone Center near Baltimore. This important event will take place January 31 to February 2, 2025.
The Instruction is divided into tracks, including training geared to existing Regional Leaders and for Emerging Leaders, most of whom are Club Presidents or rising officers.
Let’s focus on the Emerging Leaders Track. When I first attended LDI, I knew little or nothing about FJMC and had met a limited number of men outside of my own Region (MAR, centered around Philadelphia). At LDI, I had a chance to meet men like me who were active in their clubs and others who were more involved in their Regions and FJMC as a whole. What an eye-opener! There were men who cared deeply about Judaism and wanted to work to keep our faith relevant in the modern world. The training was designed to be interactive - no boring lectures. Instead, lots of sharing and bonding with like-minded guys.
To my surprise, it wasn't centered on just FJMC. I learned skills that I was able to use in my professional life, in my interpersonal relationships, as a father, a son and a spouse. In short, going to LDI made me a better person!
Now, it’s your chance. There are a limited number of spaces for applicants from each region. I urge you to let me know immediately if you would like to share in this opportunity to grow and develop.
Mark your calendar now to reserve this weekend. Cost is not an impediment as the Regions and Clubs often subsidize the fees and travel expenses, and FJMC has the Burt Fischman Scholarship Fund available to defray any remaining amounts, if needed.
I hope to see you there!
May your Rosh Hashanh be joyous and your Yom Kippur be meaningful.
Thank you.
In Brotherhood,
Alan Budman

FJMC provides opportunities to learn and exercise life/leadership skills which you may not have the opportunity to either learn or use in your work. (Such skills relate to working constructively with a group to accomplish something more than one person alone could not accomplish.)
