The organization and planning for the 2021 FJMC Biennial Convention scheduled for Chicago this summer was well ahead of every other previous convention.  Unfortunately, Covid-19 has made it impossible for our being able to safely meet in person.  We have not been deterred.  There was a famous saying, “The Show Must Go On”.

As a result, the 2021 FJMC Virtual Convention has been born - an opportunity for all members of the organization to be able to “experience” various components of Convention without the costs associated with travel and accommodation, right from the comfort of your own home.  Virtual hugs and schmoozing will replace what many of us are accustomed to with a typical FJMC convention.  The timing and number of programs and events have been reduced to accommodate all participants from all time zones.

This year, the challenge for organizations that have a candle inventory is distribution. Due to the pandemic's infectious nature, many synagogues are scheduling a curbside pickup or parking lot drive-thru pickup for Yellow Candles. This is a fun way to wave and say hello to people they may not have seen in months.

Not even COVID can stop Tradition! Our virtual WWW minyans and program were a success!  Over 490 participants for the guest speaker program! 

As we approach the deadline for early submittal of Torch Award applications, Anshei Darom and Midwest Regions are tied in first place for the Region Participation Award.

Your region can be at the top of the leader board. Work with your clubs now to complete their applications and get them in by the early submittal date of March 1. They will get extra points toward winning a Torch Award and help you to win this award. Final date for submittal is April 23.
