 nyan of Comfort is a joint project of the FJMC and the Cantors Assembly. 
  The project involves a lay training initiative coupled with the publicat
 ion Creating a Minyan of Comfort.\n\nThe training and accompanying public
 ation are designed to:\n\n 	Assist synagogues in developing a corps of tra
 ined shiva minyanim lay leaders\n 	Clarify and share community minhag 
 and halacha\n 	Gain familiarity with the various siddurim and other bookl
 ets that are often used in a shiva minyan\n 	Learn the traditional nusach
  for each service (e.g. Mincha\; Ma’ariv)\n 	Gain awareness of any spe
 cial liturgical needs (e.g. Rosh Chodesh\; Al HaNisim\; Omer\; etc.)\n 
 	Understand the role of menachem avel\, comforter of the bereaved\n 	Enco
 urage clubs to share and collaborate on their own Minyan of Comfort implem
 entations\n\nLay training is done by regional FJMC/Cantors Assembly progra
 ms. These are typically led by a Cantor or Rabbi and can be arranged throu
