 rts journalist Mike Berman's dream was to work in his hometown. That dream
  became a reality in August of 2016 when he joined the NBC TV 5 team as a 
 sports reporter and anchor. Mike is thrilled to be covering all the Chicag
 o area teams he grew up cheering for.\n\nBefore returning home Mike worked
  for almost two years as the main sports anchor at WTTV (CBS) in Indianapo
 lis. Prior to his time there\, he spent more than six years as a sports an
 chor/reporter at Times Warner Cable News in Austin\, Tex. Mike began his c
 areer in Springfield\, IL\, where he served as a sports anchor/reporter at
  WICS (ABC) for two years.\n\nWorking in sports journalism has enabled Mik
 e to witness some of the biggest sporting events in the United States. He'
 s covered the Super Bowl\, World Series\, NBA Finals\, Indy 500\, Men's an
 d Women's Final Four\, College World Series\, and many bowl games\n\nMike 
 has a degree in Broadcast News from the School of Journalism at the Univer
 sity of Missouri. While attending school he worked at KOMU (NBC) as a spor
 ts anchor /reporter /producer and lent his voice to the Missouri as its PA
  Announcer.\n\nWhen he's not working\, Mike likes to fish\, play basketbal
 l\, golf and spend time with friends and family\, which includes his wife\
 , two sons and their chocolate brown Australian Labradoodle.\n\n[ninja_for
