We need your stories and reflections on Israel!

Every week, we invite a member of the FJMC to share a “reflection” on some aspect of your thoughts, experience or feelings about Israel. It can be a memory, something current or even something forward thinking.

Please keep it short, 300 words or less or even a few paragraphs and that you stay away from politics. And it is entirely acceptable to make it about you and Israel.

In Memoriam of Israel’s Fallen Heroes 
June 29 - July 6, 2024

We remember these fallen heroes who died. 

Sergeant First Class (res.) Yakir Shmuel Tatelbaum, 21 years.
Staff Sergeant Yair Avitan, 20 years.
Sergeant Ori Itzchak Hadad, 21 years.
Sergeant First Class (res.) Yehuda Geto, 22 years.
Master Sergeant (Res.) Nadav Elchanan Knoller, 30 years.
Major (Res.) Eyal Avnion, 25 years.
Sergeant Aleksandr Iakiminskyi, 19 years.
Cpt. Elay Elisha Lugasi, 21 years.
Cpt. Roy Miller, 21 years.
Maj. (res.) Itay Galea, 38 years.
Staff Sgt. Eyal Mimran, 20 years.

Hostage Family Update
This weekend marks 9 months and more than 270 days in captivity for the 120 hostages.

Itzik Elgarat turned 69 years old while still in captivity in
Gaza this week. The Elgarat family was notified on
Thursday by Hamas that Itzik is no longer alive.

"Published in 2022, before the tragedy of October 7, Jewish educator, Dr. Samantha A. Vinoker-Meinratha’s book, #antisemitism Coming of Age During the Resurgence of Hate provides perceptive insight into the impact of antisemitism on Generation Z, those born between 1997 and 2012. 

The New York based educator will discuss her book on an FJMC webinar on August 14 at 8pm ET, sponsored by the FJMC Committee to Combat Antisemitism."
