Welcome to FJMC!

Skokie, Ill., Brotherhood joins the club

FJMC International recently welcomed Temple Beth Israel’s (TBI) Brotherhood of Skokie, Ill., as one of its affiliated clubs and newest Reform club, now part of the Midwest Region.

The Brotherhood was established in 1924 when the congregation was then located in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood. It’s been a thriving group ever since, offering men opportunities to get involved and participate in Temple life while serving the community.

TBI relocated in 1980 to Skokie as its membership efforts became increasingly focused on the immediate north suburban area of Chicago. The mission of TBI’s Brotherhood is to enhance the practice of Reform Judaism by offering meaningful activities for men of all ages, providing community and family outreach, and supporting Temple Beth Israel’s diverse needs and priorities.

Brotherhood’s mission also speaks clearly to its long-standing commitments to innovation and responsiveness to change. Whether implementing community service outreach or sponsoring Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops for Temple youth, Brotherhood has been proactive through the years.
