FJMC International is once again convening its flagship leadership training program later this month with a goal of cultivating a deeper bench of new local vision, while further strengthening the skills and expertise of our regional and international leaders to meet our future needs.
But this time, the organization is also embracing the challenge of developing a younger cadre of leaders by reintroducing the Hador Habah (HH) Track to the 2026 Rabbi Joel S. Geffen Leadership Development Institute.
LDI will run from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1 at the Pearlstone Center in Reistertown, Md., right outside Baltimore.
“HH is our next-generation track for guys under 50 years old who have been identified as potential region leaders – even if they’re not part of their region’s leadership yet,” said David Singer, LDI co-chair. “The FJMC Foundation has provided the funding for one person from each region, and we’re excited to bring them in and supercharge their FJMC journeys.”
Singer and fellow co-chair Jon Medwin said they expect 107 attendees for the 2026 event, including three who are traveling from the United Kingdom as part of the new International Region. That’s up from 82 at the 2025 event, showing the broad interest in FJMC, and the strength of the new initiatives. The tracks will include:
“We’ll also have professional trainers from Pearlstone to lead us in team-building activity,” Singer said. “Our purpose is to inspire guys on their FJMC journey from the newest guys to the most experienced guys. Everyone learns something and comes away energized.”
LDI was conceived over 25 years ago by Norm Kurtz and Dr. Burton Fischman, z’l, to bring together regional leaders and a handful of emerging leaders from each region for a long weekend of fun, educational and leadership development sessions, to strengthen the skills of the participants, to share great ideas and to build friendships.
