FJMC International has traditionally been focused on our synagogue-affiliated men’s clubs across the United States and Canada, where groups of guys get together because they are already part of a shul together.
But that no longer works for many Jewish men who may not have access to an FJMC club. So we are turning our attention to individual members through a new initiative, so that everyone has an opportunity to participate in and benefit from FJMC.
The Individual Membership program takes the FJMC values of Friendship, Judaism, Mentorship, and Community to areas that our member clubs cannot reach. This includes Jewish men unaffiliated with any synagogue and as well as those in synagogues whose Men’s Club is not already part of the organization or synagogues with no Men’s Club at all. The dues for individuals are still $36, paid directly to FJMC. But the benefits are priceless.
On March 10, FJMC will host a webinar for individuals to learn about networking opportunities and connecting with other Jewish men from all over the country and internationally, too. You can learn how FJMC is providing “Friendship, Judaism, Mentorship and Community” for those who may not be as engaged with the Jewish community as they would like to be.
You will be able to hear from leaders in the FJMC about some of the plans we have. Even better, you will have a chance to make suggestions about some things FJMC can be doing to help individuals directly. So if you have an idea to strengthen our bonds with each other–please speak up!
We are looking to meet you and build this community together.
Leonard Zangwill is co-chair of FJMC International’s Individual Membership initiative.
