In March 2022, at the beginning of the Russian War against Ukraine, Jeff Kaminsky of Northbrook, Illinois and a member of Congregation Beth Shalom Men’s Club stepped up to organize a humanitarian mission to Berlin to assist Ukrainians who were fleeing the war. Most of these refugees were women and children who fled for days or weeks to escape Russian bombings and ongoing terror attacks.
Upon returning home, Jeff founded Project Aid & Rescue, Inc. (PAR), a grassroots, volunteer 501c3 charity organization based in Northbrook. PAR’s purpose is to provide humanitarian aid in the form of medical supplies, food, and evacuation support to those in need. Through September 2003, this aid was primarily focused on Ukraine.
Following the Hamas terrorist attacks that began October 7, 2023, Jeff and PAR shifted their focus to supporting the needs of Israel as they combat Hamas. In recent months, PAR has been working with Israel’s Ministry of Health (MOH) and their Emergency & Disaster Management team to identify and source critical care medical equipment and supplies throughout Israel.
