Brotherhood: A Passover Haggadah for Men!

Shalom Brothers! Welcome to FJMC International’s Men’s Haggadah!

Passover is the story we tell every year—but for many men, it’s also the story we’re still living: learning how to move from what binds us to what frees us. Egypt isn’t only a place in the ancient world. It can look like distraction, fear, isolation, anger we don’t know how to name, pressure to perform, or the quiet belief that we have to carry everything alone.

This Haggadah comes from the world of FJMC International, a community that touches countless lives through Friendship, Judaism, Mentorship, and Community. It was created to help men bring more of themselves to the Seder table—without turning the night into a lecture or a therapy session. You’ll find short, accessible reflections, prompts, and creative offerings that meet people where they are: in real life, with real responsibilities, real relationships, and real inner battles. The goal is simple: to help us experience the Seder not only as remembrance, but as practice—one more step in the lifelong work of liberation.

And while this Haggadah is written with men in mind, you don’t need to be a man to use it or enjoy it. These pages can be used as a supplement to any Seder—family, community, intergenerational, or mixed groups. Take what fits your table, adapt the language as needed, and let the questions and intentions open up conversation, reflection, and connection for everyone who gathers.

We’re grateful to the many men who offered their voices, hearts, humor, and artistry to make this possible. Special thanks to Benny Sommerfeld, Gary Katz, Mitch Ross, Larry Nathanson, Danny Mandeau, Jerry Brodsky, Tom Sudow and Paul B. Davidson for their contributions to this Haggadah. Your willingness to show up made these pages deeper, warmer, and more alive.

May this Haggadah help you tell the story with honesty, sing it with joy, and—most importantly—carry it with you when the Seder ends. Next year in Jerusalem. And tonight, a little more free.
