Planning has begun for next year’s Rabbi Joel S. Geffen Leadership Development Institute in Baltimore, FJMC International’s annual Shabbaton gathering to train our regional leaders, cultivate our emerging club leaders and build the next generation of younger men to take the reins in the future.
Scheduled for Jan. 28-31, 2027 at the Pearlstone Retreat Center, LDI will once again bring together 80 to 100 Jewish men from across North America and beyond, to spend a weekend getting to know one another, developing leadership techniques, trying new experiences and learning from each other.
Regional presidents and executive vice presidents will focus on how to achieve their goals of strengthening their regions and supporting their clubs.
Our Emerging Leaders, who are already familiar with FJMC, will delve more deeply into our global organization, while learning and broadening skills that can benefit them in any situation.
And a new group of Hador Habah participants – The Next Generation – will discover what it means to be part of a special brotherhood of Jewish men, and how they can not only benefit from it but also enhance it. This is the second straight year of Hador Habah, after a 15-year hiatus. But many of the previous cadre are now among the leaders of FJMC International.
The weekend program is chaired by Jonathan Epstein, with Phil Margolis as assistant chair.
If this sounds appealing, if you want to be considered, or if you know someone who should be considered, please contact your club president or region president.
Jonathan D. Epstein is chairman of LDI 2027.
