Jewish Genealogy is an evolving pursuit to discover who we are and where we came from. Many have heard that you cannot do Jewish Genealogy which is based on myths. These myths include that our name was changed at Ellis Island and all of the records have been destroyed. This presentation will dispel those myths so that you can pursue your family’s history. The presentation goes on to present the “new science” of DNA testing which is generating a new light to finding relatives.

Mike Karsen, Jewish Genealogist & Researcher is an engaging p[rofessional speaker. He is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), and is Past President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois.

Mike’s expertise spans over 20 years of actively working on Jewish Genealogy in Chicagoland. He has spoken at most of the major Jewish Organizations in Chicagoland and at the International Conferences (IAJGS) on Jewish Genealogy. He has published a website “Guide to Jewish Genealogy in Chicagoland” on JewishGen.
