From Tiberias to the kibbutzim, from his first steps in music to composing beloved songs and dances, Gamliel’s work brought people together, celebrated nature, and helped build cultural identity in a young nation.
Come hear his songs, see his dances, and enjoy the story of a man dedicated to music, community, and joy in this 53 minute documentary interviewing Eliyahu Gamliel and others about Israeli music and dance. In it he plays many flutes, and many songs are sung and danced, especially Eretz Zavat Chalav for which he wrote the music and dance.
If there is time after showing the film (and if we can make the space) we will teach the dance Eretz Zavat Chalav on the zoom (as part of the FJMC wellness and fitness programming). If we don’t have the time, we will include a teaching video in the bonus slides of the presentation that can be watched at your leisure.
