The United States Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, has released an urgent Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Mental Health and Well-Being of Parents. This advisory highlights the critical need to better support parents, caregivers, and families, emphasizing that our collective efforts in this area are essential to the health and thriving of our communities.
To address this urgent need, FJMC now offers bi-weekly support groups specifically for Jewish dads and dads who are part of Jewish families. These support groups will serve as safe, confidential spaces where fathers can come together to share experiences, seek guidance, and support one another in the challenges of parenting.
The groups will be facilitated by Rabbi Noam Raucher, Executive Director of FJMC, and Psychologist, Dr. Gary Katz. The sessions will be rooted in Jewish values, offering spiritual and emotional support. They are open to all fathers who are part of the Jewish community.
We will meet on alternate Mondays beginning January 6, 2025 at 4pm PT / 5pm MT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET
